Panchakarma is a detoxification and rejuvenation therapy that is considered the ultimate mind-body healing experience in Ayurveda. The word “Panchakarma” comes from Sanskrit and means “five therapeutic measures” — designed to remove all the toxins or free radicals left by disease and unhealthy lifestyle.
Why Consider Panchakarma?
We live in a world where we are in constant contact with harmful pollutants — in the air we breathe, in the food we eat, and in the water we drink. Over time, these pollutants build up as toxins in our body and become the source of various health issues. By undergoing Panchakarma, the body is cleansed of all toxic substances resulting in enhanced health, vitality, and vigor.
The Doshas in Panchakarma
Vata (Air + Space): Governs movement — when out of balance leads to anxiety, insomnia, dry skin, and constipation.
Pitta (Fire + Water): Governs digestion and metabolism — imbalance leads to inflammation, heartburn, and irritability.
Kapha (Earth + Water): Governs stability and structure — imbalance leads to weight gain, congestion, and lethargy.
